When it comes to reaching your fitness goals, the CNU Fit staff believes in positive thinking! Our coaching style focuses on accentuating the positive and redirecting the negative, which increases results in every Personal Training session, and optimizes client’s success in every meal plan. Whether you’re exercising for weight loss, strengthening for an event, or optimizing your metabolism through nutrition, positive thinking and speaking is key to success!

The CNU Fit staff adapted this belief from Ken Blanchard author of “Whale Done!” who explains that both whales and people perform better when you accentuate the positive. In his book Whale Done!, Ken Blanchard shows how using the techniques of animal trainers — specifically those responsible for the killer whales of SeaWorld — can supercharge your effectiveness at work and at home. We believe that it can supercharge your effectiveness in reaching your fitness goals too!

Beyond our professional education and accreditations, our coaches have learned the techniques of building trust, accentuating the positive, and redirecting negative health behaviors. Instead of focusing on what our clients haven’t accomplished, clients receive a “whale done” (a positive response) for the tasks and successes they have accomplished– all of which make extraordinary fitness performances and results possible.

Don’t mistake our enthusiasm! Our Personal Trainers still deliver correction and critique during each training session, but they do so without creating situations that demoralize or dispirit our clients. Metabolic Coaches provide accountability and goal setting, but instead of focusing on the nutritional goals our clients haven’t met, we focus on those they have and redirect our efforts to reaching future goals in a healthy and positive manner.
