Dover Personal Trainer gives tips to increase energy

If we told you that you could increase your energy without the help of caffeine, would you jump on the opportunity?

Lack of energy is a huge problem that almost all of our clients faced before joining CNU Fit, but it’s also a problem that can affect anyone, young or old. Lack of energy could mean a lot of different things, but it manifests as physical, emotional lethargy, or intellectual exhaustion. If you’ve ever felt too tired to get off the couch, too tired to put your all into a relationship, or if your mind is moving slow, then here are some tips to help you out!

1. STAY HYDRATED:

Drink plenty of water. One of the first signs of dehydration is fatigue, sluggishness, and feeling emotionally low. It is recommended that you drink about 1/2 your body weight in ounces, so make sure you are drinking water during your workouts. But don’t wait until you start feeling “thirsty”--thirst is a sign of dehydration.

2. EAT COLORS:

In the Chinese culture they have a saying: you eat first with your eyes. This is completely accurate because we'll never get excited about food unless it looks good! Eating a variety of colors ensures you are getting all the various nutrients your body requires for better energy. Many people focus on hitting the calories and macros in their meal plans, but often miss out on all the vitamins and minerals their bodies need in order to function at its best. This means you've got to eat more than white and brown! Think greens, yellows, purples, and reds, and not only will you get more excited about what you're eating, your body will feel the difference.

3. EXERCISE DAILY:

Moving your body allows you to create and utilize energy. When we exercise our body adapts; it wants to be able to access energy and create energy, so this adaptation allows our bodies to meet their maximum potential.

These are our three tips to help you obtain more energy, so make sure you are following them, and if you aren’t make sure you add them to your routine!
