Behavior and outcome goals are supported and accomplished through action steps. But, sometimes action steps aren’t enough. Keeping yourself accountable to action steps often proves too difficult for most. Those highly disciplined individuals that can stick to their action steps often find it less rewarding when they reach their goal alone, lacking the enthusiasm and celebration of a partner or team.

Social support is a key factor in maintaining your health and wellness. Creating a network of like-minded people who share in your interest of optimal health significantly impacts your ability to not only reach your goals, but keep you at your goals while creating new ones.

If you haven’t built your fitness network and social support group, we recommend the following:

Join a Training “Team”:
A team can be any number of people from 2-200! CNU Fit offers personal training and metabolic coaching options that allow you to experience the care and accountability of one-on-one attention, and small group atmospheres to foster community and support. The CNU Fit office also requires a 24hour cancellation notice for your appointments, so there’s a price to pay (and few excuses) for skipping your workout!

Connect Online:
CNU Fit is live in several of your favorite social media outlets including Twitter, Instagram, Google+ and Facebook. Social media can help you connect with people that motivate you to exercise and share your nutritional goals in real time, no matter where you are or when your needing the motivation to succeed. Online coaching is another valuable online resource for those interested in the accountability and support of a coach, without the time and travel constraints.

Challenge and Compete:
There’s no better way to spike motivation (and connect with those around you) than to have a friendly competition! Consider initiating a “Steps Per Day” challenge in your office, or competing with your family to determine who can drink the most water each day. The video below is a great example of our trainers challenging and competing with each other for the good of the goal….

Get your family, friends, co-workers and neighbors involved in your fitness network, and plug into the variety of online resources with CNU Fit, start building your fitness network to help you reach your goals and be there for you when you do!
