Weightloss Recipe: Broccoli Salad

It’s almost like magic…Delaware has officially welcomed summer. Now with the beaches opening up and BBQ’s being planned, it’s the perfect time for those favorite summer side dishes that we all love. The only issue is…most of our favorite dishes don’t exactly move us toward our goals.

One of the big things we see our client struggle with when it comes to weight-loss is the fact that they don’t usually get enough protein, and they blow their fat out of the water. It’s especially easy to do during summer, what with all those goodies out their like potato salad, pasta salad, and a personal favorite…broccoli salad.

Folks also tend to struggle to get their veggies in, which is why this salad is a favorite because you can disguise your veggies into something delicious. This particular recipe takes a fan fave and turns it into a protein packed, healthy side dish to any summer get together.

Pair with a burger, or turkey burger (as pictured here) and you have yourself a complete dish!

Serves: 1

Calories: 313, Protein: 15.7 g, Carbs: 55.2 g, Fat: 13.3 g

Ingredients

  • 40 g Ocean Spray Dried Cranberries
  • 20 g red onion, diced
  • 85 g non-fat Greek Yogurt
  • 133 g raw broccoli florets
  • 30 g shelled pistachios
  • Liquid sugar-free sweetener (Splenda or Stevia preferred)
  • Pinch black pepper

Directions

  • Pretty easy…mix all together and enjoy! Add sweetener to taste, or if you prefer it more tangy just omit it!
